Bookmarks - Combating hate speech online through human rights education - The European Wergeland Centre

Bookmarks – Combating hate speech online through human rights education

This manual has been designed to support the No Hate Speech Movement – the Council of Europe’s youth Campaign against hate speech online, and will be useful for educators working to address this problem, both inside and outside the formal education system

Bookmarks – Combating hate speech online through human rights education gathers activities designed for young people aged 13 to 18, however they are adaptable to other age ranges.

The manual is based on the firm belief that online space is public space, and hence, all principles of a democratic society can and should apply online.

In this context, the manual explores, through activities, ways of interaction online, how young people can take action online and how they can campaign online for a better and safer Internet.
